Fees & Payment Options
Our fees are competitive professional fees for our services. Our webpage “Consultations and Tests” gives more detail regarding what you can expect from your Consultations. In accordance with our open, fair practice, and GMC guidance, we will ensure that you are aware of the costs of consultations, investigations and treatments.
Consultations
First consultations usually last for up to 20 minutes, and our fee is currently £200 for the consultation. Occasionally if significantly longer consultations are required for more specialist problems or complex personal factors, then fees may reflect this (being charged pro rate thereafter), though this is less common.
Follow up Consultations are to discuss results and treatment options, and are charged at similar rates. Post-operative /post-procedural Consultations are usually shorter, and at a significantly reduced cost.
Additional costs / fees are charged for any specialist examinations performed at Consultations, and for outpatient tests or investigations, and services provided by the private hospitals (which will invoice you directly for these also).
If you are self-funding you will be provided with procedure or operation fees to be agreed in advance in conjunction with the relevant Private Hospital provider. Fixed price packages are often available for common procedures, though prices may vary for patients with more complex conditions. Payment in advance, (in full), is usually required by Hospitals prior to you undergoing any procedure.
Patients may use Private Medical Insurer policies (PMI), and our fees are usually in accordance with PMI recommended or approved fee schemes, where we offer these.
We do reserve the right to apply different fees if we feel that is appropriate, but will ensure this is clearly communicated and agreed with yourself and your PMI in advance of any procedures.
Note: Private medical insurance is a contract between yourself and your insurer. It is your personal responsibility to ensure payment of our fees in full, and of any Hospital invoices. The General Medical Council (GMC) recommends invoicing patients direct to ensure patients understand this, and we advise that it is your responsibility to check what your PMI policy does or does not cover, prior to undergoing investigations or treatments. Any policy excess or costs not covered by your policy will remain your responsibility to pay.
Payment options
There are a variety of ways in which you can pay. Our Payment terms are within 28days of invoice.
- Internet banking /BACS transfer: settle your account with these methods by transferring the appropriate amount. Please annotate the transfer with the invoice number & your surname.
- Debit card & Credit Cards: payments can be made by telephone on 01524 749908, but are not available at the actual Consultation. Card transactions are not taken on our behalf by private hospital providers, unless as part of a procedural fixed price package.
- Cash: we are prepared to accept cash payments at Consultation, though this is not our preferred method. A receipt will be provided subsequently should this be required.
- Cheques: please make your cheques payable to: M T Surgical Ltd.
- Finance options: many private hospital providers can offer you the option of low interest finance to cover surgical costs, enabling you to repay over an agreed period. Please discuss with us and we can then liaise with our private hospital provider and supply you with relevant details and contacts to discuss this.
